Growing as a Math Learner
In Grade 2 you take on bigger numbers and new ideas, so sticking with a problem matters more than ever. Feeling frustrated is a signal to try a different strategy, not a reason to stop.
Strong mathematicians:
- Make a plan, try it, and check whether the answer is reasonable.
- Explain their reasoning so others can follow it.
- Represent problems with tools, pictures, and number sentences.
- Stay positive and learn from mistakes.
Talking about *how* you solved something is just as important as the answer.
