Patterns and Relationships
Grade 2 adds growing and shrinking patterns to repeating ones.
- A repeating pattern has a core that repeats (▲■▲■).
- A growing pattern gets bigger by a rule (2, 4, 6, 8 — add 2 each time).
- Describe a pattern's rule in words, then use it to predict later terms.
Finding the rule is the goal: once you know it, you can jump ahead without drawing every step.
