Equations and Equality
The equals sign still means *balance* — both sides are worth the same.
- Find a missing number that keeps a number sentence true: 6 + ? = 10.
- Show that different expressions are equal: 7 + 3 = 6 + 4.
- Use a symbol or a blank to stand for an unknown amount.
Checking both sides with objects or a number line proves whether a sentence is really balanced.
