Number Sense to 1000
- Read, write, compare, and order whole numbers to 1000.
- Use place value — hundreds, tens, and ones — to understand a number's size.
- Round to the nearest 10 or 100 to estimate.
- Work with fractions: name unit fractions, compare fractions of the same whole, and see them as equal parts.
Place value explains everything: 305 has 3 hundreds, 0 tens, and 5 ones — the zero holds the tens place so the 3 still means three hundreds.
