Habitats and Communities
A habitat is a place that provides what a living thing needs.
- A habitat supplies food, water, shelter, and space.
- Living things in a community depend on each other through food chains (plant → plant-eater → meat-eater).
- Adaptations are features that help a living thing survive in its habitat.
A food chain shows how energy passes from the Sun to plants and then to the animals that eat them.
