Pulleys and Gears
Pulleys and gears change how force and motion work.
- A pulley is a wheel with a rope; it can change the direction of a force or make lifting easier.
- Gears are toothed wheels that turn together; they can change the speed, direction, or force of motion.
Connecting a small gear to a large gear trades speed for turning force — the same idea as the gears on a bicycle.
